10 years of Looking for Alaska
10 years of Looking for Alaska
It has been 10 years since the release of the book Looking for Alaska by John Green.
The story deals with friendshiship, love and dying.
In the story we are introduced to Miles 'Pudge' Halter and we get to know about his obsession with the last words of famous people. He is going to a board school. There be meets Alaska Young, beautiful and a carefree girl. She tells him about last word of Simon Bolivar 'Damn it. How will I ever get out of this labyrinth' and promises him if he finds the meaning of this she will help him to find a girlfriend.
What follows next is a tale of friendship and love but with a bitter end.
I recommend every teenager to read this book as the twist in the book is gripping and one can relate his or her teen life alot with it.
So on the occasion of its 10th anniversary to pick up this book and read it !

FAILING
Fall seven times, get up eight
A constant thing in all of us is the fear of failing. We might be black white wheatish Asian American Australian Chinese or whatever the thing we fear most is failure. We think what if we cannot get up after the fall what if we don't succeed. But that is not true we have to fail sometimes in order to know the real taste of success. And believe me every great personality have face failure in life at some point of time.
I recently failed in my maths exam. I got 13 out of 100. But this is not the shocking part. The shocking part is I got 90 in maths in my icse exams and now the marks were such a downfall.
But my mom told me to have courage and it is my fault that I failed. No one else is to be blamed. And thats true I didnt pratice well and didn't bother to learn all the formula by heart.
But now I know such a huge mistake I have make and it is me who has to rectify it. No one else can do that.
So if anyone reading this is and you are going through a bad phase or you are facing failure at this moment, don't worry it is not the end of the world. You are going to overcome it.
But the most important thing is no one else but only YOU can overcome it.
And as my favourite poet Sarah Kay says '' Only when your lungs can't feel the air they are reminded how much they like the taste of it'' (or something like that the quote is little incorrect I guess)
Seize the day....

The last book in the Narnia series
The last book in the Narnia series..
I recently found one of this books in a local bookstore and I was too damn excited to read this book.
The last battle by C.S. Lewis is the last book in The Chronicles of Narnia series. This book is a mixture of myth legends along with the writer' imagination from his childhood.
This book is sure to make you cry if you have been following the entire series.
But if you haven't then go and read it from the beginning.
If you are a lover of mythology and fantasy then surely this series is for you!
